Before you replace concrete in Chariton
Chariton Code 12.08.060 bars anyone from building, rebuilding, repairing or removing a sidewalk without first getting a permit from the city manager. The permit must stay on site for the whole job.

Chariton Code 12.08.020 treats a public sidewalk as defective if, among other conditions, it has vertical or horizontal separations of three-fourths of an inch or more, or any part missing to its full depth.
Code 12.12.080 requires paved driveways to follow Exhibits No. 1–3 in Title 12. On streets without curb and gutter, the owner pays for a corrugated metal culvert pipe (size and length set by the city engineer), which the city installs.
Chariton's Driveway Construction/Reconstruction Permit Application requires the permit holder to call for every inspection with 48 hours' notice and be on site for it. The permit is void 120 days after issue.
